She previously held senior technology roles at BP, Uber, and Toyota.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Home Depot CEO Ted Decker said Bell\u2019s experience in data and AI will support efforts to improve customer experience and streamline operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFran is a respected leader in data science and AI, and she understands the power of technology to improve the customer experience,\u201d Decker said. \u201cHer expertise will be invaluable as we invest to remove friction and make home improvement seamless for our associates and customers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bell will oversee the development and integration of AI and machine learning tools across the business, with a focus on connecting digital and physical channels and improving how customers and associates interact with the company\u2019s systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe most powerful technology is the kind you don\u2019t notice, because it\u2019s busy behind the scenes making your life easier,\u201d Bell said. \u201cI look forward to working with this team to build smarter ways to get the job done.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The appointment comes as Home Depot continues to invest in ecommerce, data, and its professional contractor business.
